Electoral College Dropout

Remember when you ran for school council and the teachers said 'The election isn't a popularity contest.'

THEY WERE WRONG!!!
Elections & Politics are a popularity contest. OF, BY and FOR the PEOPLE does not mean the Electoral College.

George W. Bush was and is not the peoples' favorite.

It is time to abolish the electoral college and just use the popular vote.

To quote Shane Botwin (a fictitious character on the show 'Weeds')

George W. Bush

In a debate team argument on the electoral college versus popular vote, Shane just said these two words that won him the debate as the audience applauded wildly and the apponent walked off the stage without even uttering a word.

Shutout!

Electoral College

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Electoral College)

An electoral college is a set of electors who are empowered as a deliberative body to elect someone to a particular office. Often these electors represent a different organization or entity with each organization or entity represented by a particular number of electors or with votes weighted in a particular way. Many times, though, the electors are simply important persons whose wisdom, it is hoped, would provide a better choice than a larger body.

In my opinion as we start into the 21st century, this type of process is very much outdated and faulty.

for more background on the EC see the links below and see if you don't agree the Electoral College should be eliminated.

When I clicked on the link 'How the Electoral College Works' I got a "http://www.fec.gov/404error.shtml" instead of an answer, which just proves the government knows it does NOT work!
